Fugi washing station
Producer and station
Emmanuel Rusatira spent 15 years at an export group before founding Baho Coffee in 2016. It now runs 12 washing stations. "Baho" means having life, being strong and overcoming adversity.
The Fugi station, founded in 2013 and expanded in 2016, processes coffee from over 850 local producers and employs about 70 people in peak season. It sits in Kizi Rift, 5 minutes from the Burundi border. Each producer tends 170 to 200 trees.
